Meet Ingrid

As a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, I specialise in a broad spectrum of diagnoses and presentations in adults. My expertise spans mental health disorders, crisis management, personality disorders, emotional regulation, and complex trauma presentations.

I have lived and travelled in many different countries, which has given me the opportunity to work with different cultures and become culturally competent in my practice. I am particularly passionate about providing psychosocial support to refugees, and have volunteered at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in Melbourne and with Maram Foundation in Türkiye.

My background is in Forensic psychology, where I worked with incarcerated adults from various backgrounds struggling with severe mental health issues, substance abuse, addiction, anger management and complex behaviours. During my time working in prison, it became apparent how difficult childhoods and unresolved trauma were more often than not the predisposing factor leading to incarceration. This has significantly impacted the way I work with individuals, as I try to understand their difficulties within the context of early life experiences.

I prioritise assessing individuals thoroughly in order to tailor a treatment plan that is based on their individual needs. My main modalities are Attachment-Based psychology, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I also draw on various other modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.
